i have read a few reviews that people couldnt taste the difference.. if your buying expensive wine then obviously it wont do much to the flavour, but for people who like red wine but also enjoy "cheap" french red, its brilliant! previously putting wine in a decanter for 24 hours, now i just pour and enjoy. the only downside is the sound it makes but thats nothing important. this gadet now travells everywhere with me, excellent!
I looked with some suspicion at this item but the reviews were convincing so I took a chance and am glad I did. It really does make a difference to the taste of the wine and, despite being averse to fuss, my female friends have agreed that this really does work.
Works a treat - you just pour your wine through the goblet shaped upper half, into your glass. It takes in air as it passes through, effectively "breathing" your wine in a few seconds. Looks stylish on the worksurface, and no batteries! Great stuff.
This is a superb little gadget that really does enhance any bottle of wine. We've run blind taste tests time after time, and the Vinturi wine wins every time. Whether it's a 3 Euro bottle of plonk, or a 100 Euro treat, it really does feel, and taste, like the bottle has had hours to breathe.
My husband brought me this for my birthday and at first I thought what is this? but after trying it, wow! what a difference it makes to the red wine.I'm not a lover of French red but after putting it through the Aerator it actually didn't taste that bad. Firstly, I did not know that it was not battery opperated (Because they don't give a decent description). The ones for around £20+ work a lot better. You might as well spend a little extra, and buy a battery operated one. It will save you a lot of admin...
We've used an air breather "Air Au Vin" for a couple of years now, rotating 2 identical products. Very quiet in use and a discernible difference, especially for red wines. For some reason, 1 has stopped working completely. Tried the recommended technique of running the end under very hot water, but it's made no difference; also, the unit itself is not serviceable so it's a "no-go" there. So, not overly impressed with longevity and going to give the one requiring AAA batteries a whirl. Hope this helps.
We were bought one of these for Christmas. Didn't really think it would make a difference - we were wrong. It's brilliant. Can really make a red taste so smoooooth!
